Updated: Jun 2

What are the early signs of a leaking shower?

  1. Shower walls and grout have a build up of mould

  2. Discoloured tiles or grout in or around shower

  3. Smell caused by rotting timber and wet carpet/flooring

  4. Paint flaking off walls/ceiling

  5. Cracks in walls

  6. Grout falling out/missing

  7. Lose tiles (coming off the walls)

If you have noticed one or more of these signs, the chance is high that you are dealing with a leaking, seeping shower. If the problem is caused by water leaking through cracked or missing tiles, cracks in grout, missing sealants etc, Platinum Seal is the best solution for you. Platinum Seal doesn’t necessarily have to lift a tile to fix the problem.

If the shower leak is caused by leaking/drippings taps, burst or leaking pipes behind the wall, or a water pressure problem it will be a job for the plumber. For example, if there is a constant leak and it is getting worse over time, the chance is high there is a plumbing problem with the pipes. Should water only be visible when you are using the shower/bath or shortly after you have used it, you are most likely dealing with a seeping/leaking shower/bath.
